Polarizers get their polarizing properties from being dyed in a PVA film and being stretched.
The dye ingredients is roughly divided into iodine materials and dye materials. Dye materials have slightly inferior optical properties compared to iodine materials, but they provide superior durability and heat resistance.
Our dyed polarizers boast durability as one of their strengths and have a good reputation for uses in on-board devices such as car navigation units, as well as LCD projectors.
Leveraging the development expertise of Nippon Kayaku Co., Ltd. for dyes and adhesives and our manufacturing technology, Polatechno accounts for more than half of the durable polarizer market.

We developed elliptical polarizers in which Twister a temperature-sensitive optical compensation film manufactured by Netherlands subsidiary Dejima Optical Films B.V., and polarizers are attached.
The main feature of Twistar is that they maintain optical compensation over a wide range of temperatures as the optical properties of liquid crystals change with the temperature. They are used for extreme temperature conditions such as those found in in-car displays and mobile phones. |
